Arab League reinstates Syria, but resumption of relations remains optional for member states
Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit clarified that Syria's readmission to the Arab League does not imply the resumption of relations between Damascus and other member countries.
“Each country will decide independently based on its own perspective,” Abdul Gheit said.
The reinstatement of Syria is seen as an Arab effort to aid the resolution of the Syrian crisis.
