Haneyya: Israeli flag march part of religious war on the Aqsa Mosque
The head of the Hamas Movement's political bureau, Ismail Haneyya, has said that the zionist regime’s state of alertness ahead of the flag march exposed the fragility of israeli security.
In a press statement on Thursday, Haneyya stressed that closing off the Old City of Jerusalem reflects the Jewish settlers’ panic of the Jerusalemites’ steadfastness.
“The Israeli flag march constitutes part of the religious war waged against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Occupied Jerusalem,” he said, adding that the Palestinians will continue defending their holy sites until full liberation.
The Jewish settlers organized their annual flag march event in Occupied Jerusalem earlier today to celebrate the israeli capture and occupation of east Jerusalem in 1967.
The zionist regime’s National Security Minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, participated in the march. The zionist police intensified their presence in Jerusalem to facilitate the march.
Earlier in the morning, around 1,262 extremist Jewish settlers desecrated the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem after the zionist police forcibly expelled Muslim worshippers from the holy site.
3,000 policemen were deployed throughout Jerusalem ahead of the flag march. In addition, the defense system’s batteries were put on alert. (ILKHA)
