The attack involved 18 missiles, including six hypersonic ones. The night sky over Kyiv was illuminated by bright flashes as this marked the eighth air assault on the capital within the month.

Despite the barrage, city officials have not reported significant damage, and only three individuals were injured by debris that fell from the sky.

According to officials, a minimum of three individuals sustained injuries during the attacks, which involved a combination of drones and missiles.

The head of the military administration in the Ukrainian capital, Serhiy Popko, characterized the barrage as an unprecedented volume of attack missiles launched within a remarkably brief timeframe.

He further stated that based on initial reports, the majority of hostile targets within Kyiv's airspace were identified and successfully eliminated.

Following a pause of several weeks, Russia, which initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, has once again resumed its strategy of conducting long-range missile strikes, primarily focusing on Kyiv.

This escalation in attacks coincides with Ukraine's preparations to launch a counteroffensive in an attempt to reclaim territories occupied by Russia.

During the early hours of Tuesday, air raid sirens reverberated throughout almost the entire country of Ukraine, persisting for over three hours and reaching the city of Kyiv and its surrounding area. (ILKHA)
