Erdogan leads in Turkish elections as vote count progresses
According to the state-run Anadolu Agency, Erdogan secured 49.5% of the vote, while his main opponent Kemal Kilicdaroglu obtained 44.8%.
As the night progressed, the gap between the two candidates narrowed.
These figures are based on the counting of 95.8% of the ballot boxes, as reported by Türkiye's Supreme Election Council (YSK).
It is worth noting that initial results typically tend to favor Erdogan, as they primarily originate from his conservative and rural strongholds.
