Chinese FM urges joint opposition to a "new cold war" during Norway visit
On the last day of his visit to Norway, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang spoke at a press conference in Oslo alongside his Norwegian counterpart, Anniken Huitfeldt.
Qin emphasized the need for China and Europe to work together to oppose a "new cold war" and to deepen collaboration for mutual development and prosperity.
He stressed that a new cold war would be a tragedy for humanity, causing harm to the interests of both China and Europe as well as the rest of the world, and would undermine multilateralism and global governance.
Qin also urged both China and Europe to oppose economic decoupling and to uphold genuine multilateralism.
His statements came as EU foreign ministers prepared to review the bloc's China policy amid ongoing tensions with Beijing due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. (ILKHA)
