Turkish Interior Minister assures highest level of security for elections in Türkiye
Turkish Interior Minister, Süleyman Soylu, has affirmed that security for the presidential and parliamentary elections in Türkiye is being provided at the utmost level.
Speaking to reporters after casting his vote in Istanbul, Minister Soylu stated that over 600,000 law enforcement officers are currently deployed to provide security throughout the elections.
Today, Türkiye is conducting its presidential and parliamentary elections, with voting scheduled to continue until 17:00 (GMT+3).
Over 64 million people are eligible to participate in the electoral process in Türkiye. Notably, Turkish citizens residing abroad cast their votes in the presidential and parliamentary elections between April 27 and May 9.
The total number of voters among Turkish citizens living abroad reached 1.8 million, out of a general population of 3.4 million eligible voters. Voting took place across 151 diplomatic missions of Türkiye located in 73 countries worldwide. (ILKHA)
