Tesla recalls over 1 million vehicles in China for acceleration and braking issues

The announcement came after an investigation by China's market regulator into certain models of Tesla cars.

The affected vehicles include imported Model S, Model X, and Model 3 cars produced between January 12, 2019, and April 24, 2023, as well as some Chinese-made Model 3 and Model Y vehicles from the same period.

Chinese officials discovered that the affected cars do not always provide a warning when the accelerator is pressed forcefully, potentially leading to an increased risk of collisions.

Tesla has stated that it will address the issue through a software update. This is not the first time Tesla has faced recalls.

In March, the company recalled 3,470 Model Y electric vehicles due to loose bolts, and it was also under federal investigation for incidents involving steering wheels detaching from certain 2023 models while driving.

In February, Tesla recalled over 362,000 vehicles due to safety concerns related to their experimental self-driving software, which could result in unsafe behavior near intersections and failure to stop at stop signs or yellow traffic lights. (ILKHA)
