Canada expels Chinese diplomat over alleged interference plot targeting lawmaker
Canada expelled Chinese diplomat Zhao Wei who was accused of involvement in a scheme to intimidate Canadian politician Michael Chong and his family in Hong Kong.

The Foreign Affairs Minister, Melanie Joly, stated that Canada will not tolerate foreign interference in its internal affairs and warned that diplomats engaging in such behavior would also be sent home.
