Türkiye successfully repatriates 9,043 artefacts trafficked abroad from Anatolia
The Directorate of Communications for the Turkish presidency recently announced that they successfully repatriated 9,043 cultural artefacts that had been illegally taken from Anatolia and trafficked abroad.
The Directorate shared the news on their social media account, emphasizing their commitment to preserving Türkiye's cultural heritage.
The repatriation efforts were carried out over the course of several years, with 765 artefacts brought back between 2002 and 2007, 3,339 between 2008 and 2012, 201 between 2013 and 2017, and 4,738 between 2018 and 2022, as indicated by an image shared in the post. (ILKHA)
