Russia accuses Ukraine of attempted drone attack on Putin's residence
Russia has made an accusation against Ukraine of attempting to assassinate President Vladimir Putin by using drones to target his residence in the Kremlin located in central Moscow.
According to the presidential office, two drones were shot down by defences overnight. Putin's spokesman has confirmed that the Russian leader was not present in the complex at the time of the alleged attack.
Social media footage, which cannot be verified, showed an object flying over the Kremlin followed by a small explosion.
Ukraine has denied any involvement in the drone attack, with President Volodymyr Zelensky's spokesman stating that the focus remains on the country's own territory after the Russian invasion last year. (ILKHA)
