Türkiye's Domestic Producer Price Index shows significant annual increase of 52.11% in April
Türkiye's statistical agency reported that the Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) rose by 52.11% annually and 0.81% monthly.
In April, the D-PPI increased by 0.81% on a monthly basis, 7.11% on a year-on-year basis from December of the previous year, 52.11% on a year-on-year basis from the same month of the previous year, and 105.50% on a twelve-month moving average basis, according to Turkish Statistical Institute.
Manufacturing increased by 48.24% annually
D-PPI in four main sectors of industry increased by 63.87% for mining and stone quarrying, by 48.24% for manufacturing, by 50.27% for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, by 72.84% for water supply, annually.
The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 41.11% for intermediate goods, by 50.57% for durable consumer goods, by 72.13% for non-durable consumer goods, by 49.93% for energy, by 51.46% for capital goods, annually.
Manufacturing increased by 2.54% monthly
D-PPI in four main sectors of industry increased by 2.42% for mining and stone quarrying, increased by 2.54% for manufacturing, decreased by 16.98% for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, increased by 1.63% for water supply, monthly.
The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 2.26% for intermediate goods, increased by 2.32% for durable consumer goods, increased by 3.57% for non-durable consumer goods, decreased by 9.72% for energy, increased by 3.07% for capital goods, monthly.
Compared to general D-PPI, lower annual change observed in 16 subdivisions while 13 subdivisions were higher
The only rate of annual decrease in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry was index for coke and refined petroleum products by 1.03%. On the other hand, the highest rates of annual increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were indices for other mining and quarrying products by 116.52%, for beverages by 113.06%, for basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutic preparations by 93.61%.
Compared to general D-PPI, lower monthly change observed in 7 subdivisions while 22 subdivisions were higher
The highest rates of monthly decrease in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were the indices for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 16.98%, for tobacco products by 5.37%, for crude petroleum and natural gas by 3.46%. On the other hand, the highest rates of monthly increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were indices for metal ores by 4.74%, for other mining and quarrying products by 4.13%, for food products by 4.08%.
