4.0 magnitude earthquake hits eastern Türkiye

The quake occurred at around 21:48 TSI, with its epicenter located at a latitude of 38.239 degrees north and a longitude of 38.638 degrees east, at a depth of 11.34 km.

On February 6, a devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit southern Turkey and northern Syria, causing over 50,000 deaths and 108,000 injuries across the most affected regions in Turkey, including adjacent Elazığ and Batman provinces.

The disaster also affected 13.5 million people and 4 million buildings, with thousands of people trapped under the rubble of collapsed buildings.

The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change has conducted damage inspections on 763,000 buildings, and at least 41,791 structures in 10 Turkish provinces were heavily damaged or destroyed, resulting in around 150,000 people being homeless. (ILKHA)
