Turkish Foreign Minister holds phone call with his British counterpart
The foreign ministers of Türkiye and Britain held a phone conversation to discuss the ongoing situation in Sudan.
The talks between Mevlut Cavusoglu and James Cleverly also involved discussions on cooperation for evacuations from the country amidst clashes between rival Sudanese military factions that have been ongoing for two weeks.
Despite a 72-hour cease-fire declared for the Muslim holiday of Eid, the clashes continued on Sunday, with reports of explosions and fighting around the military headquarters and presidential palace in Khartoum.
Since the fighting began on April 15, at least 413 people have died and over 3,500 have been injured in Sudan due to conflicts between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. (ILKHA)
