Türkiye conveys condolences to Yemen for stampede victims
The Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed its condolences to the people and government of Yemen following a deadly stampede that occurred during the distribution of aid in the country.
More than 80 people lost their lives, and hundreds were injured in the tragic incident that took place in the capital city of Sanaa.
The ministry stated that it was deeply saddened by the news and wished a speedy recovery to the injured while extending sympathy to the families of the deceased.
The stampede occurred just days before the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, a Muslim holiday that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, and people had gathered to receive cash handouts at a school. (ILKHA)
