Türkiye’s non-domestic producer inflation rises by 40.35 pct annually
Non-Domestic Producer Price Index (ND-PPI) increased by 40.35% annually, by 1.65% monthly, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Thursday.
ND-PPI (2010=100) increased by 1.65% monthly, by 6.16% on December of the previous year, by 40.35% on same month of the previous year and by 79.20% on the twelve months moving averages basis in March 2023.
Manufacturing increased by 40.48% annually
ND-PPI in two main sectors of industry increased by 33.63% for mining and stone quarrying, by 40.48% for manufacturing compared with the previous year.
The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 39.26% for intermediate goods, by 42.80% for durable consumer goods, by 39.44% for non-durable consumer goods, by 23.04% for energy, by 44.24% for capital goods, annually.
Manufacturing increased by 1.66% monthly
ND-PPI in two main sectors of industry increased by 1.35% for mining and stone quarrying, by 1.66% for manufacturing compared with the previous month.
The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 1.69% for intermediate goods, by 2.35% for durable consumer goods, by 1.42% for non-durable consumer goods, by 2.79% for energy, by 1.25% for capital goods, monthly.
Compared to general ND-PPI, lower annual change observed in 9 subdivisions while 16 subdivisions were higher
The lowest rates of annual increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were the indices for metal ores by 15.90%, for coke and refined petroleum products by 23.04%, for basic metals by 30.03%. On the other hand, the highest rates of annual increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were indices for beverages by 64.70%, for other non-metallic mineral products by 56.47%, for fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment by 55.18%.
Compared to general ND-PPI, lower monthly change observed in 15 subdivisions while 10 subdivisions were higher
The only rate of monthly decrease in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry was index for computer, electronic and optical products by 0.10%. On the other hand, the highest rates of monthly increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were indices for beverages by 6.62%, for other manufactured goods by 4.08%, for basic metals by 3.25%.
