Türkiye’s chicken meat production down in February
Chicken meat production was 176 thousand 236 tons, hen egg production was 1.61 billion units, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Thursday.
In February, hen egg production increased by 3.7% while chicken meat production decreased by 2.1%, turkey meat production decreased by 3.3% and number of the slaughtered chicken decreased by 5.7% compared with the same month of the previous year.
In January-February period, hen egg production increased by 3.5%, chicken meat production decreased by 3%, number of the slaughtered chicken decreased by 5.9% and turkey meat production decreased by 10.3% compared with the same period of the previous year.
Chicken meat production declined by 8.1% in February compared to the previous month and decreased from 191 thousand 807 tons to 176 thousand 236 tons.
Hen egg production declined by 6.6% in February compared to the previous month and decreased from 1 billion 727 million 344 thousand units to 1 billion 613 million 722 thousand units. (ILKHA)
