Tornadoes kill at least 10 people in the United States
At least 10 people were killed and dozens injured as devastating tornadoes hit the South and Midwest.
Local officials said that more than 50 preliminary tornado reports were recorded Friday in at least seven states, including Arkansas, Mississippi, Iowa, Tennessee, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
In Arkansas, devastating storms killed five people – four in the small city of Wynne and another person in North Little Rock.
Three people died in Indiana, one died in Illinois and one died in Alabama, according to local officials.
In Mississippi, one person died and four others were injured, the state’s Emergency Management Agency said.
There have been 296 preliminary filtered reported tornadoes and 251 confirmed tornadoes in the United States in 2023, according to the National Weather Service. (ILKHA)
