Zionist regime targets Aleppo International Airport with missiles
The Zionist occupation regime has launched an act of aggression with missiles that targeted Aleppo International Airport causing material damages.
“At about 03: 55 a.m. on Wednesday, the israeli enemy launched an aerial act of aggression with a number of missiles from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea, west of Lattakia, targeting the vicinity of Aleppo International Airport,” official news agency SANA quoted a military source as saying.
The source added that “the attack caused some material damages to the airport.”
The airport was being used to deliver aid to victims of the February 6 earthquakes that killed more than 56,000 people in Türkiye and Syria.
The closure of the airport could have severe humanitarian implications for people in Aleppo – one of the worst earthquake-impacted governorates in the country – and could also affect the wider vulnerable population who need humanitarian assistance, according to the United Nations. (ILKHA)
