Heavy rains cause floods in earthquake-hit southeastern Türkiye
Heavy rains have triggered floods in Türkiye’s southeastern Şanlıurfa, one of the provinces hardest hit by the February 6 earthquake.
The flood waters overwhelmed streets and shops, subways, and stranded people in homes and cars, prompting dozens of evacuations and rescues.
Eyyübiye Training and Research Hospital was flooded due to heavy rain. Patients in intensive care were transferred to another hospital.
“Our citizens residing in ground and basement floors close to the stream and canal beds should evacuate their houses in case of flooding,” Governor Salih Ayhan warned.
Videos shared on social media platforms showed flood water dragging vehicles through city streets. (ILKHA)
