Rocket attacks target US military base in northeastern Syria
Two rockets targeted the base of the US-led coalition in Syria's eastern Deir ez-Zur province on Monday, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said.
“On March 13, at 8:23 pm local time in Syria, two rockets landed near Coalition Forces at Mission Support Site Green Village in northeast Syria,” the CENTCOM said in a statement.
The CENTCOM noted that no US or coalition troops were killed or wounded and there was no damage to coalition infrastructure or equipment.
It added that “US forces in northeast Syria are investigating this incident. There are no claims of responsibility at this time.”
"Rocket attacks of this kind place Coalition Forces and the civilian populace at risk and undermine the hard-earned stability and security of Syria and the region," said Colonel Joe Buccino, CENTCOM spokesman. (ILKHA)
