3 FETO-linked suspects nabbed on Turkey-Greece border
Turkish border units in northwestern Edirne province has nabbed 3 FETO-linked suspects, who were pushed back by Greek troops, the country’s Defense Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
“Our soldiers nabbed 3 people who were pushed back by Greek forces into our country. The persons were found to be the members of the FETO terrorist organization,” the Ministry tweeted.
Since May 2016, the FETO organization has been classified as a terrorist organization by Turkey under the assigned names Fethullahist Terrorist Organization and Parallel State Structure.
After the failed coup attempt in 2016, the government of Turkey blamed the group for the coup and authorities have arrested thousands of soldiers and judges who have links to the organization. ILKHA)
