A 3.9 magnitude earthquake hits Türkiye’s Bursa
A 3.9 magnitude earthquake rocked the Karacabey district of Türkiye’s northwestern Bursa province, the country’s Disaster, and Emergency Management Presidency said on Thursday.
The earthquake took place at around 08:28 TSI, with its epicenter at a latitude of 40.523 degrees north and a longitude of 28.237 degrees east, and a depth of 7 km.
There were no immediate reports of damages or casualties after the earthquake.
On February 6, magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 earthquakes struck southern Türkiye and northern Syria in the early hours of the morning on February 6.
The death toll in Turkey and Syria has passed 56,000, and many survivors are enduring near-freezing winter temperatures after having been left homeless by the earthquake in cities in both countries. (ILKHA)
