Prophet’s Lovers releases message on Lailat al-Baraa
The Prophet's Lovers Foundation issued a message on the occasion of Lailat al-Baraa, which is a Muslim holiday that's commonly known as Mid-Sha'ban and is celebrated on the night between Sha'ban 14th and 15th.
Sacit Pişgin, Adana Coordinator of The Prophet’s Lovers Foundation, read the message " Lailat al-Baraa " on behalf of the foundation, and said, "May our Allah make this blessed night a means for us to get rid of the bondage and oppression of our souls."
“We have once again reached Lailat al-Baraa, also known as the night of forgiveness and mercy, peace and love, healing and well-being, salvation from sins and liberation from hell, in which every good deed is wisely appreciated by Allah,” Pişgin said and added:
"Lailat al-Baraa is the night when the Qur'an is revealed to the heavens of the world. Baraa means salvation. Baraa means to be free from troubles and difficulties. Our Allah says in the first four verses of Surah Duhan: "By the clear Book, We have sent down the Qur'an in a blessed night. We are indeed warners. In that blessed night, every wise business is distinguished by a command from our floor."
Drawing attention to the fact that many events about worldly life were written on this night, Pişgin said: " Everything related to destiny, such as people who will die and be born during the year, sickness and healing, plenty and abundance that will descend on the earth, or famine and drought that will strike people, are written on this night. Our Prophet (PBUH) says about Lailat al-Baraa, 'When it is the fifteenth night of Sha'ban, get up to worship at night. And fast the day of that night. Because when the sun went down that night, Allah (whose pleasure is unknown to us) descended to the sky closest to the earth and said: “Is there anyone who asks my forgiveness, let me forgive him. Does not anyone want me sustenance, let him sustenance. Is there anyone who is afflicted (with a calamity), let me give him salvation. Is there any situation like this? Isn't there anyone in the situation like this?"
Wishing that Lailat al-Baraa will be an opportunity to get rid of the bondage and oppression of the carnal desires, Pişgin said: " May our Allah make this blessed night a means for us to get rid of the bondage and oppression of our souls, for our brothers in oppressed geographies to be saved from oppression, the chaos of the world, and blackened hearts from oppression and for those who live without faith and aim to attain guidance and enter the path of eternal salvation, for the sick to find healing, for the afflicted to find cure, and for the oppressed and oppressed captives all over the world to find their freedom. May our Allah grant us to take lessons from earthquakes, floods and similar disasters and protect all humanity from such calamities and disasters.”
Pişgin also made following recommendations in order that the blessed night to be understood properly:
-“By making this night an occasion, let us intend to let go of everything that comes between us and our Lord and weakens the brotherhood, neighborliness and other beautiful bonds between us. And let's fulfill this intention in the healthiest way possible.
-Let’s look at Muslims with the eyes of compassion, mercy and fraternity.
-Let's see the conflicts between us and our brothers as the mercy of Allah and make these conflicts a means of unity rather than separation, brotherhood rather than enmity, broad-mindedness and understanding rather than fixed-mindedness.
-If we have bad habits that we know and notice, let’s try to fix them. Let us pray to our Lord for what we do not notice. Let’s acquire good traits that will remove our arrogance, pride and freaks.
-Let’s lower our wings of compassion to all our relatives, especially our parents.
-If we have bad habits or addictions, let’s look at ways to get rid of them.
- Let's reflect on the earthquake, the great test we have experienced in the recent past, and strengthen our bond with Allah.
- Let’s try to help our brothers in the earthquake. Let’s help the foundations and associations that strive for this and carry HOPE materially and morally to those in need. If we do not have the financial strength, let’s be willing and trying to heal the wounds voluntarily.
- In this blessed month of Sha’ban, which is the month of our Prophet (peace be upon him), let’s not let salawat fall from our tongues and the love of the Prophet from our hearts.”
Congratulating the Night of Bara’at of all Muslims, Pişgin concluded as follows: “As the Foundation of the Lovers of the Prophet, we congratulate our Night of Bara’at, wish our night to be auspicious, and pray to our Lord to reach many fruitful months and nights with you, our precious brothers. May God be entrusted to you.” (ILKHA)
