More than 3,000 girls wear headscarves voluntarily at massive event
More than three thousand girls from Kurdistan’s Sulaymaniyah province decided to wear the headscarf voluntarily at a mass rally.
The festival, the ninth of its kind, was launched by Kurdistan Students Development Organization, an organization belonging to the Kurdistan Islamic Union.
The girls were honored under the slogan "Golden Crown" at the public events hall in downtown Sulaymaniyah.
Girls are honored and put a "golden crown" on their heads.
Speaking at the event, Salahaddin Muhammed Bahaeddin, the chairman of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, said that the young girls, their families, and the organization achieved great success.
Bahaeddin emphasized that the girls had shown the original national and religious identity of Kurdish women. (ILKHA)
