Due to the earthquakes in country, "field prices" could not be gathered in February 2023 within the provinces where Gaziantep, Malatya and Hatay Regional Directorates of TurkStat are located.

On the other side, in the provinces affiliated to these three Regional Directorates, the use of "workplace barcode scanner data" and "price data compiled from the internet via web scraping techniques" have been continued to be used.

Consumer price index (CPI) realized as 55.18% annually and 3.15% monthly

A change in general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 3.15%, on December of the previous year by 10.00%, on same month of the previous year by 55.18% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 71.83% in February 2023.

Clothing and footwear with 21.69% was the main group that indicated the lowest annual increase. On the other hand, hotels, cafes and restaurants with 74.34% was the main group where the highest annual increase realized.

In February 2023, clothing and footwear with -1.76% was the main group that indicated the lowest monthly increase. On the other hand, food and non-alcoholic beverages with 7.36% was the main group where the highest monthly increase realized.

In February 2023, within indices of 143 basic headings (Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose-COICOP 5 Digit Level) in the index, the index of 23 basic headings decreased and the index of 3 basic headings remained unchanged while the index of 117 basic headings increased.

The indicator for CPI having specified coverage (B) increased by 55.16% annually and 2.62% monthly

A change in CPI excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 2.62%, on December of the previous year by 9.87%, on same month of the previous year by 55.16% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 64.10% in February 2023.
