The volunteers for the aid organization who came from France to Kahramanmaraş to deliver aid to earthquake victims and see the situation on the site, visited the Umut Kervanı Coordination Center and received information from foundation officials about their work.

The group, who was satisfied with the foundation's work after their visit, provided food and hygiene aid to about 250 families in villages through the Umut Kervani coordination and also distributed hot meals.

After the visit, Tahar Bellili, the logistics affairs officer of the Halkın Sevinci Association, spoke to the ILKHA reporter and said: “We have previously made goodwill trips to many places such as Palestine Djibouti and Syria to provide help and support. Now we came to Turkey on top of what happened and tried to help earthquake victims as much as we can. We deliver food and hygiene packages, as well as tents and blankets, to earthquake-stricken families. We also give candies and toys as gifts to make children happy. This makes us very happy. we saw the working spirit and organization of the Umut Kervani foundation. We appreciate their work. Hopefully, we will also support the work done and help earthquake victims.”

“There is no distinction between rich and poor after the earthquake; everyone should help according to their power”

Mehmet Faik Doğan, the 2nd regional official of Hope Caravan Foundation and the Kahramanmaraş Coordination Center Authority, said: “ We have been in the field since the first day of the earthquake. We are trying to heal the wounds of our earthquake-stricken brothers and sisters. Kahramanmaraş is one of these cities. We distribute hot meals to nearly 25,000 people per day here. Additionally, we distribute needs such as food, stove, and blanket. There are also brothers and sisters who come from outside and see our work. Today, we have brothers and sisters from the association of Halkın Sevinci who came from France. We showed them around our center, and they were satisfied. They will distribute aid to two villages and also distribute meals with us. There is no distinction between the rich and the poor after the earthquake. People wait in line while we distribute aid, and we can’t keep up with the demand. That’s why everyone should help according to their power. Today here, tomorrow in another place. Our common concern is to heal people's wounds. Dry food is the top request we receive from the soup kitchen locations we distribute aid to. Then comes underwear. These are the stuff we need the most at the moment. We would be happy if our helpful brothers and sisters consider these while giving aid.”  (ILKHA)
