Islamic Emirate issues press releases on 3rd Anniversary of Doha Agreement
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has issued a press release on the 3rd anniversary of the Doha Agreement.
“With the help of Almighty Allah, our Muslim nation continued the holy jihad against the foreign invaders until they achieved victory. With the grace and support of Allah, Afghans once again gathered in unity like brothers, the plots of the enemies were foiled and the ground for a strong Islamic system paved,” the Islamic Emirate said.
The Islamic Emirate once again congratulated “all the Afghan people and the Mujahideen who strove in the holy war on the occasion of the great day of victory”.
“We ask Allah Almighty to give us strength in keeping peace and the Islamic system built on the sacrifices of martyrs stable, and to give us all the opportunity to express our gratitude for the great victory,” the Islamic Emirate added.
Doha Agreement was a peace agreement signed by the United States and the Islamic Emirate on February 29, 2020, in Doha, Qatar, to bring an end to the 2001–2021 war in Afghanistan.
The provisions of the deal included the withdrawal of all NATO troops from Afghanistan.
The United States agreed to an initial reduction of its force level from 13,000 to 8,600 by July 2020, followed by a complete withdrawal within 14 months. (ILKHA)
