The humanitarian aid campaign that was initiated by Hope Caravan Foundation, European Orphan Hand, Orphans Foundation, and IHO EBRAR to aid people who were struck by the deadly earthquake in southern Türkiye and northern Syria continues in full swing.

“As Hope Caravan, we visited earthquake-stricken families in Çortman village of Belen, Hatay. The earthquake victims, whose houses were destroyed in Antakya, went to the village by their own means. They set up tents and settled down. We provided food aid to these families. We provided various household items. We delivered blankets and similar items. We conveyed our best wishes to the earthquake victims. We continue to heal the wounds of our people. Our work continues in many places. With Allah's permission, these wounds will soon be healed,” Resul Alınmış, a representative for Hope Caravan, told Ilke News Agency.

A 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey and northern Syria in the early hours of the morning on February 6.

There were at least 44,000 deaths and over 108, 000 people were injured across the ten most affected provinces in Turkey, including some casualties also in adjacent Elazığ and Batman provinces.

At least 13.5 million people and 4 million buildings have been affected. Thousands were trapped under rubble when buildings collapsed.

The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change conducted damage inspections for 763,000 buildings; at least 41,791 buildings in 10 Turkish provinces were heavily damaged or destroyed, leaving about 150,000 people homeless. (ILKHA)
