Death toll from Brazil floods rises to 48
The death toll from floods and landslides triggered by torrential rains in south-eastern São Paulo has risen to 48, Brazilian officials said.
Record-breaking rainfall caused deadly floods and landslides across the state of São Paulo. At least 48 people were killed, of which 45 were in São Sebastião.
According to local sources, dozens remain missing in the state as rescue crews search for bodies in the rubble of homes.
At least 2,496 people were displaced or left homeless due to floods. (ILKHA)
