During the meeting, Deputy PM Hanafi expressed his appreciation to the government and the people of Japan for their support to the people of Afghanistan.

Thanking Okada for his work in the sectors of agriculture and health in Nangarhar province, Hanafi asked Japan for the implementation of similar projects in other parts of Afghanistan.

“The cultivation, smuggling, production, and use of drugs have been prevented, the administrative corruption is reached zero and the investment conditions in the mines sector are ready and Japan can invest in this sector,” said Hanafi.

Meanwhile, Hanafi thanked Japan’s $3 aid for alternative cultivation of opium and treatment of drug addicts.

He asked for Japan’s assistance in the implementation of development projects in Afghanistan.

For his part, Ambassador Okada said that good progress has been made in different sectors of Afghanistan, including security, the fight against administrative corruption, and narcotics.

He said that the capacity of youth human resources in Afghanistan is major and we are ready to cooperate in the field of professional training of Afghan youths.

Japan has increased its aid from two million to three million dollars, as the cultivation, smuggling, production, and use of narcotics in Afghanistan has decreased, he added. (ILKHA)
