The earthquake took place at around 15:04 TSI, with its epicenter at a latitude of 38.277 degrees north and a longitude of 38.233 degrees east, and a depth of 7.00 km.

Magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 earthquakes struck southern Türkiye and northern Syria in the early hours of the morning on February 6.

The death toll in Turkey and Syria has passed 46,000, and many survivors are enduring near-freezing winter temperatures after having been left homeless by the earthquake in cities in both countries.  

More than 6,000 aftershocks have occurred after the devastating earthquakes, according to AFAD. (ILKHA)
