Afghan FM calls on international organizations to bring human traffickers to justice
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan asked international organizations, and host countries, to bring human traffickers to justice who put people’s lives in danger.
“On February 17, 2023, 18 Afghan nationals lost their lives due to hunger, thirst, and oxygen deprivation inside an abandoned container truck along the ring road in Sofia, Bulgaria,” the Ministry said in a statement.
The ministry added that the remaining Afghan nationals were rushed to the city hospital in non-life-threatening condition.
The ministry expressed condolences to “the families of the victims of this tragic incident and again urges Afghans not to put their lives in danger through illegal migration.”
The ministry also called on all international organizations and the host country, in particular, to apprehend the human traffickers and bring them to justice for continuously putting the lives of people in danger. (ILKHA)
