Woman, two children rescued from rubble 228 hours after Türkiye earthquake
A woman and two little girls have been saved from the rubble of a block of flats in southern Turkey, more than 228 hours after the devastating earthquake struck.
Rescuers continue to search for survivors after southern Türkiye and northern Syria were hit on Monday by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake and powerful aftershocks.
In the city of Antakya, southern Turkey, a woman and two little girls, who were trapped under the rubble in the earthquake, were saved by rescuers after 228 hours.
The survivors were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, officials said.
On 6 February 2023, a catastrophic and destructive Mw 7.8 earthquake struck southern and central Turkey, as well as northern and western Syria.
Turkish authorities said that at least 35,418 people have been killed in the country. The Syrian government and the UN said more than 5,800 people died in Syria. (ILKHA)
