Woman rescued from rubble 222 hours after Türkiye earthquake
A woman has been rescued from a collapsed building in Turkey after spending about 222 hours beneath the rubble following a deadly earthquake.
A 42-year-old woman named Melike İmamoğlu was pulled alive from the rubble of an apartment block in the city of Kahramanmaraş, some 222 hours.
The magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 earthquakes struck southern Türkiye and northern Syria in the early hours of the morning on February 6.
The death toll in Turkey and Syria has passed 41,000, and many survivors are enduring near-freezing winter temperatures after having been left homeless by the earhquake in cities in both countries. (ILKHA)
