Türkiye earthquake: President Erdoğan declares seven-day national mourning
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan declared seven-day national mourning following the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes affecting ten provinces, the epicentres of which were in the Pazarcık and Elbistan districts of Kahramanmaraş.
“A seven-day period of national mourning has been declared in Türkiye following the earthquakes that occurred on February 6, 2023. Our flag will be hoisted at half-mast throughout our country and in our foreign missions until sunset on Sunday, February 12, 2023,” a circular published with the signature of President Erdoğan said.
