Türkiye annual inflation falls to 57.68% in January
The consumer price index realized as 57.68% annually and 6.65% monthly, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Friday.
A change in general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 6.65%, on December of the previous year by 6.65%, on same month of the previous year by 57.68% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 72.45% in January.
Clothing and footwear with 24.24% was the main group that indicated the lowest annual increase. On the other hand, health with 77.22% was the main group where the highest annual increase realized.
In January 2023, clothing and footwear with -1.53% was the main group that indicated the lowest monthly increase. On the other hand, health with 18.35% was the main group where the highest monthly increase realized.
In January, within indices of 143 basic headings (Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose-COICOP 5 Digit Level) in the index, the index of 12 basic headings decreased and the index of 2 basic headings remained unchanged while the index of 129 basic headings increased.
The indicator for CPI having specified coverage realized as 57.05% annually and 7.07% monthly
A change in CPI excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 7.07%, on December of the previous year by 7.07%, on same month of the previous year by 57.05% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 63.81% in January.
