Turkish competition authority decides to open investigation against Google
The Turkish Competition Board announced on Thursday it had decided to open an investigation into Google LLC and its parent Alphabet Inc over possible violation of the competition law after a preliminary inquiry.
In a written statement, the board said that the inquiry had focused on whether the group abused its dominant position in the general search services market.
“After discussing the information, documents, and determinations in the preliminary inquiry at its meeting held on January 12, 2023, the Competition Board found the findings serious and sufficient and decided to open an investigation against Google LLC and its parent Alphabet Inc,” the statement read.
