Iran’s Gharibabadi meets with Iraqi chief prosecutor Najm Abdullah Ahmed in Baghdad
The secretary of Iran's High Council for Human Rights Kazem Gharibabadi met with Iraqi chief prosecutor in Baghdad.
A number of common issues related to judicial cooperation between the two countries were discussed, according to the prosecutor’s office.
Gharibabadi is in Iraq to follow up on the assassination case of Qasem Soleimani.
Qasem Soleimani, who was the commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and a main architect of Iran’s regional influence, was assassinated on 3 January 2020 around 1:00 a.m. local time, by a U.S. drone strike near Baghdad International Airport.
Soleimani was on his way to meet Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi and had just left his plane, which arrived in Iraq from Lebanon or Syria. (ILKHA)
