Zionist occupation regime commits 790 violations in Jerusalem during December
Europeans for al-Quds Organization confirmed that the Zionist regime, as usual, sought to transform the occasion of Jewish holidays into opportunities to realize its ambitions and impose its hegemony and a fait accompli in Jerusalem.
This was represented in the increase of the settlers’ storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the occupation police, performing provocative dances and uttering Biblical slogans and songs inside the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, lighting the walls of Jerusalem with biblical drawings and wearing priestly clothes and performing Talmudic rituals.
The Organization documented in its report that the zionist occupation forces (ZOF) committed 790 violations that fall within 16 types of human rights violations in Jerusalem during December 2022.
During December, the ZOF carried out 57 shootings and direct attacks in the neighborhoods of occupied Jerusalem. As a result, 17 civilians were wounded, with bullets and tear gas canisters. In addition, more than 35 others were exposed to direct beatings and abuse.
The report also documented the killing of two brothers, Muhammad and Muhannad Youssef Mutair, from Qalandia camp, after they were subjected to a deliberate run-over operation carried out by a settler at the Za’tara military checkpoint in Nablus.
The report said that 275 raids into towns and neighborhoods of Jerusalem were carried out, during which 165 Palestinians were arrested, including children and women, 11 others were summoned, and house arrest was imposed on at least 8.
The report also monitored 18 demolitions and the distribution of notices, which resulted in the destruction of 12 facilities.
During the month, 4338 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque over 21 days in two periods in each day.
The Israeli authorities issued 24 decisions to remove Palestinians from Al-Aqsa Mosque and the neighborhoods of Jerusalem, while the settlers continued to carry out attacks against the Jerusalemites.
According to the report, 5 attacks were carried out by settlers, which resulted in demolitions, seizure of vehicles, assaults on citizens, and the performance of Talmudic rituals.
The organization warned that these practices seek to perpetuate dealing with Al-Aqsa Mosque after it is an existing temple, by reviving all the peculiarities of the temple that have been destroyed by its collapse according to the religious narrative, a danger that transcends the temporal and spatial division of Al-Aqsa by jumping into the conflict over the nature and identity of Al-Aqsa.
