About 1.9 million new COVID-19 cases reported last week, WHO says
Globally, nearly 1.9 million new cases and over 12 000 deaths were reported in the week of 16 to 22 January, according to WHO’s a weekly epidemiological update on COVID-19.

“In the last 28 days (26 December 2022 to 22 January 2023), over 11 million cases and over 55 000 new deaths were reported globally – a decrease of 25% and an increase of 13%, respectively, compared to the previous 28 days,” World Health Organization said.
The organization noted that over 664 million confirmed cases and over 6.7 million deaths have been reported globally. (ILKHA)
