Tens of thousands of people attended the demonstration held by the Quranic Generation Platform (Kuran Nesli Platformu) at the 8 March Women's Park in Batman to protest the burning of the Holy Quran in southern Linkoping city, Sweden.

HÜDA PAR (Free Cause Party) officials, representatives of the political parties, NGOs, Islamic scholars, and opinion leaders attended the event, which is being held with the slogan “Protect the Holy Quran”.

The protesters were holding banners that read “Sweden, do not make a mistake, do not make us lose our patience”, “We are the guardians of the Holy Quran”, “Stop the burning of the Holy Quran” and “Stop insulting Muslims”, and “Take off your hand from Holy Quran”

The protesters were frequently chanting slogans in Turkish and Kurdish against the desecration of the Holy Quran at the event, where Özlem Agency singers also took the stage to perform Islamic songs for the audience.

Speaking at the event, HUDA PAR Deputy Chairman and Spokesperson Serkan Ramanlı drew attention to the fact that the attacks on Islamic values are not ordinary acts but organized ones.

Ramanlı said that Muslims are in the squares to put the enemies of Islam in their place, and added: “Today, we are here to put the impertinent who try to burn the copies of the Quran with their dirty hands in their place. Today, we have gathered here to declare once again to the whole world that as the sons of the holy Islam, no impertinent can extinguish the light of Islam. The action of the impertinent, who set fire to the copies of the Qur’an in Sweden yesterday, is not an ordinary ugliness. From time to time, in different European capitals, we have witnessed acts of different impertinent, enemies of Islam who speak different languages and are from different nations.  But yesterday’s action was different from the others.  Yesterday’s action was an organized evil. Yesterday’s action was not a spontaneous action.  It was a despicable act that the Swedish state first allowed, then secured to carry out the act, and then supported.”

“We look forward to the days when we can prevent evil with our hands”

Ramanlı said: “No one, no power, no state, no authority can insult our faith, dare to burn our Book, or insult the Prophet (PBUH). We do not accept this injustice and insults, and we reject them unanimously.”

“My dear brothers and sisters! Maybe we were weak in the past, maybe we were oppressed, or maybe we just resented this kind of ugliness with our hearts and had an outburst of anger. Maybe we couldn't make our voices heard as we do today. But alhamdulillah, we are not at the point of trying to get rid of the munkarat (What Allah Forbids) just by hating it with our hearts, as it was yesterday. Alhamdulillah, we are able to prevent this sin with our tongue in this square and in many parts of Turkey and even the world today. Today, we shout with our tongues, we say stop to this oppression, this cruelty, this impertinence, this injustice. Today, we are trying to prevent this sin with our tongues, but if Allah allows, we will be able to prevent this sin with our hands in the not-too-distant future. Today, we are trying to prevent this evil with our tongues.  We look forward to the days when we will prevent these evils with our hands, but until that day, until those days come, we call on the government that has the authority today:

A war continues between Ukraine and Russia.  It was the right attitude to be neutral in that war, it was a principled attitude, what do we care about Europe's war?  There are many European countries today who, for fear of Russia, hope that they will be safe in the orbit of the United States. One of them, you know, is Sweden.  The ominous state that caused us to gather in this square today, Sweden, wants to become a member of NATO, but there is a rule in NATO. if a NATO member country vetoes it, it will not be able to become a member of NATO.  One of those countries is Turkey.  Recall that a few months ago, when this membership came to the agenda, Turkey expressed that it did not consent.”

And we say, O those in the administration of this country! O those who are authorized to act with the will of this nation! O Government! Forget the PKK, FETO... They are hostile to our religion, our Allah, and our Holy Book. Why do we care about the security of such a state that disregards our sanctities? If they do not value our faith in an iota, we do not have to ensure their safety. Let them get out and take care of themselves.”

In his speech, Ramanlı called on the government officials and said: “We call on the government from here: It has been a few days since this ominous event was heard. The scoundrel who burned the copies of the Qur'an carried out this act yesterday and the Swedish authorities still stand behind that scoundrel. What is it, sir? It's freedom of expression... Damn such freedom of expression. Is there such freedom of expression? And you still host the ambassador of such a country in your capital. We do not agree to this.

Do you know where that scoundrel who burned the copies of the Qur'an carried out this action? There are so many embassies from the Islamic world in Stockholm, he carried out this action in front of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey. We say to the government; 'Here's your chance! If my Allah has deemed you worthy of this honor, take the steps that will be worthy of this honor now. Get over this humiliation. We say give the answer it deserves to this state that dares to play with the dignity and honor of Islam.”

What does the Organization of Islamic Cooperation do?

Calling on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ramanlı said: “Today, more than one and a half billion Muslims live on earth. They have dozens of states and unfortunately, they have an organization called the Organization of Cooperation, whose function we have not known until now. What does the Organization of Islamic Cooperation do for Allah's sake? It was established against the Zionist regime after the occupation of Jerusalem, but until now it has only served to make a statement of condemnation. We do not agree with this humiliation of Muslims. We do not like the fact that the government is powerless and helpless against blasphemy. In that case, we are calling out to both the Turkish government and the governments and powers in the entire Islamic geography:

Come, do work to stop Islamophobia in the world. The United Nations imposes rules that all member states will accept. You are not weak, you are not powerless, and you are not helpless at all. But you have one shortcoming; you are not united; you are in pieces. We say turn away from the artificial agendas that disband your unity and make you fragmented and give up on them now. We believe that if we Muslims are in unity if we are united, no one will be able to look at our holy ones with a squint.”

“As we did before, we have the will to protect our faith today more than ever. Alhamdulillah, there is no power, no force that can destroy our will, or weaken it,” Ramanlı emphasized. (ILKHA)
