Hundreds of thousands of people gathered at the 8 March Women's Park in Batman province to protest the burning of the Holy Quran in Sweden.

The officials of HÜDA PAR, representatives of the political parties, NGOs, Islamic scholars, and opinion leaders attended the event, which is being held with the slogan “Protect Holy Quran”.

The protesters were holding banners that read "Sweden, do not make a mistake, do not make us lose our patience”, “We are the guardians of the Holy Quran”, “Stop the burning of the Holy Quran" and “Stop insulting Muslims”, and “Take off your hand from Holy Quran”

The protesters were frequently chanting slogans in Turkish and Kurdish against the desecration of the Holy Quran at the event, where Özlem Agency singers also took the stage to perform Islamic songs for the audience.

Speaking at the event, Mehmet Beşir Şimşek, the head of Quranic Generation Platform, noted that Allah the Almighty has taken the responsibility of protecting the Holy Quran.

“Oh fools! The Quran has been preserved throughout history; how can you destroy it?”

“They want to extinguish Allah's light with their mouths, but Allah will not allow anything except that His light be perfected, even though the unbelievers detest it. Allah says, ‘indeed it is We Who have revealed it and it is indeed We Who are its guardians.’ Oh fools! The Quran has been preserved throughout history, how can you destroy it?,” Şimşek said.

Şimsek called on all Muslims to implement the teachings of the Holy Quran in their daily life, and said: My brothers and sisters! My brothers and sisters! It is possible to curse the infidels and talk about their badness as much as we can, but it will almost be of no benefit. How can they dare to insult Islam and Muslims? Why do they commit this vile deed every day? Do we not have our share of guilt in this? Islamic states! Muslim peoples! Let's not blame ourselves a little, shall we? The unbelievers could not change a single letter from the Qur'an. Because they can't. Their attack is only against a copy of the Qur'an. Unfortunately, the infidels are emboldened by the divisions between Islamic countries. They take courage from disputes among us. They see the Qur'an leaving our lives. They see that the Qur'an has no effect on our assemblies. They see that we have removed the Qur'an from our trade, our politics, our home, and our lives. They also want to destroy the rest.”

“If we had supported the Qur'an properly and had given it the necessary value, they would not have dared to do so today”

Noting that Muslims should obey the rules of the Holy Quran in every aspect of their lives, Şimşek said: “First of all, we need to protect the Qur'an so that we can disgrace these scoundrels as soon as possible. Let's read the Quran. Let's have the Quran read. Our homes, mosques, and shops should be turned into Qur'an education centers. That way we can respond to their attacks.”

The demonstration was held after Rasmus Paludan, a politician from the far-right Stram Kurs (Hard Line) party, burnt a copy of the Quran during the protest on Saturday outside the Turkish embassy in Stockholm.

The Holy Quran is the last holy book that Allah sent down to people. The Holy Quran was sent down to the Prophet Hz. Muhammad (PBUH) through Gabriel (Jibril) and then it reached today through being written down and reported.

The Quran is a material and spiritual guide for individuals and the community, all classes of people living in any place or time and for the whole life of man. Everybody, from the president to the man in the street, finds the things that are about them in the Quran. They take the knowledge and lessons that are necessary for peace and tranquility both in the world and the hereafter.

Therefore, intentionally insulting the Quran by defiling or defacing copies is regarded by Muslims as blasphemous. (ILKHA)
