Addressing via videoconference the opening ceremony of Amasya Badal Tunnel, Erdoğan said: “We have made our Republic’s centenary the symbol of our democracy and development moves. Likewise, we have registered 2053 and 2071 as the interim targets of the Century of Türkiye.”

Underscoring that the most concrete examples of the politics of projects and services, which they had been carrying out over the past two decades by both making up for shortcomings and compensating for neglects, were these investments, Erdoğan said: “While the global administration and economy systems have been deeply shaken by the pandemic, wars and crises, we have strived hard and made every effort to prepare our country for a huge leap forward on its strong infrastructure. By overcoming one by one the obstacles raised before us, foiling one by one the traps set against us and dealing with one by one the attacks we have been exposed to, we have elevated our country to a level where it has a say both in its region and the world. Now, we are enviously followed as a country capable of turning global crises into opportunities.”

Noting that while the level Türkiye had reached through the politics of projects and services made them happy, it had placed new responsibilities on their shoulders as well, Erdoğan stated: “Above all, we must protect the achievements our country has gained through great sacrifices and efforts. In addition to this, we must strengthen our country’s will to have a say and take decisions at global level in line with our Century of Türkiye vision. By incrementally increasing our political and economic strength, we must first join the world’s top 10 economy, and then continue to ascend to leading positions. Otherwise, we might once again face the danger of missing out the historic opportunity arisen before us.”
