Milk production decreases in Türkiye—statistical agency
Milk collected by integrated dairies was 718 thousand 166 tons in November, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement.
The amount of cow's milk collected by dairy enterprises decreased by 6.1% in November compared with the same month of the previous year and decreased by 3.2% in the January-November period compared with the same period of the previous year.
In November, compared with the same month of the previous year, butter production decreased by 18.5%, drinks made of yoghurt (ayran) production decreased by 8.8%, drinking milk production decreased by 7.4%, cheese production from cow's milk decreased by 5.1% and yoghurt production decreased by 3.1%.
In the January-November period, while butter production increased by 16.1%, drink made of yoghurt (ayran) production increased by 7.2% and yoghurt production increased by 3.4%; cheese production from cow's milk decreased by 4.8% and drinking milk production decreased by 2.4% compared with the same period of the previous year.
The amount of cow's milk collected by dairies, which was 757 thousand 79 tons in the previous month, decreased by 5.1% and became 718 thousand 166 tons in November.
Drinking milk production, which was 120 thousand 847 tons in the previous month, increased by 1.9% and became 123 thousand 123 tons in November. (ILKHA)
