Russian forces have taken Soledar, Wagner Group chief says
The head of Russia’s Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced that their troops had secured control of the salt mining town of Soledar in Ukraine’s east.
“The divisions of PMC Wagner took control of the entire territory of Soledar. A cauldron has been formed in the center of the city, in which urban battles are being fought. The number of prisoners will be announced tomorrow,” Prigozhin said.
“Once again, I want to emphasize that no units except for the fighters of the Wagner PMC took part in the assault on Soledar,” he added.
Soledar is a city in Bakhukmut Raion, which is located in Donetsk Oblast of Ukraine. The city lies 18 km (11 mi) from Bakhmut. (ILKHA)
