Russian, Turkish and Syrian foreign ministers to meet in Moscow
The foreign ministers of Russia, Turkey, and Syria will meet in Moscow to discuss a political settlement to the Syrian civil war.
“The issue is being worked out, but there is no specific date for the meeting yet. We hope that it will be determined in the near future. The negotiations, I believe, will be held in Moscow,” a senior Russian official told the state-owned TASS news agency.
“We have already invited Syrian and Turkish colleagues to Moscow for a meeting. And now there is a discussion of agreeing on dates that are convenient for everyone. We have proposed the coming days and are now waiting for confirmation from our Syrian and Turkish colleagues,” the official added.
On 28 December, Syrian and Turkish defense ministers and intelligence chiefs met in Moscow in a clear sign of normalization between Ankara and Damascus in the decade-long Syrian war. (ILKHA)
