In its weekly statement regarding recent regional and global developments, HÜDA PAR (Free Cause Party) welcomed the steps towards a rapprochement between Türkiye and Syria.

Stating that President Erdogan's statement that he will meet with Syrian President Bashar Assad is an important step towards achieving regional peace, HÜDA PAR spokesman Serkan Ramanlı said that the Syrian civil war, which has been going on for 12 years and has caused hundreds of thousands of civilians to die, must now be ended through political negotiations.

Ramanlı stated that a solution to Syria’s civil war can only be achieved with regional cooperation, which has turned into a proxy war field for the USA and Russia for years and said: “The imperialists, who have turned the Syrian lands into a military base center and exploited their resources, certainly want the chaos to continue. The USA's statement that 'we are against Turkey's meeting with the Syrian regime' should also be evaluated in this direction. For this reason, the talks between Turkey and Syria should take place directly and without intermediaries, and the interests of the Syrian people should be prioritized. Turkey should do its part in terms of the safe return of refugees, the process of writing a new constitution, and ensuring an indefinite ceasefire.” (ILKHA)
