“We have learned with sadness that many people lost their lives and were injured in the accident which occurred on 8 January in the city of Gniby in Senegal,” the Ministry said.

“We wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives, extend our condolences to the relatives as well as to the friendly and brotherly people and the Government of Senegal, and wish a swift recovery to the injured,” the Ministry added.

On Sunday, at least forty people were killed and several others injured in a collision between two buses in the Kaffrine region, central Senegal.

Senegalese President Macky Sall decreed a three-day national mourning following the accident. (ILKHA)
