5.3 magnitude earthquake strikes northern Morocco
A 5.3 magnitude earthquake hit Morocco’s northern Al Hoceima province earlier today, the country’s National Institute of Geophysics (ING) announced.
The quake occurred at 09:12 (GMT+1), the ING said, noting its epicenter was located in Nekkour, a small town and rural commune in Al Hoceima Province.
The tremor was felt throughout northern Morocco and parts of southern Spain, including Gibraltar, local reports said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries after the quake. (ILKHA)
