Muslims came from different parts of Palestine and gathered at different parts of the holy site for Fajr prayers this morning.

This is part of a campaign named “Sound of Great Fajr” launched by Palestinians in protest at the Zionist occupation regime’s moves against Muslim sanctities in Al-Quds and elsewhere in Palestine.

In this campaign, Muslim Palestinians from across Palestine go to Al-Quds to say Fajr prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque. 

Zionist occupation regime and extremist settlers have increasingly violated the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque in recent months.

Zionist regime’s officials and settlers regularly storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the occupied city, a provocative move that infuriates Palestinians.

Al-Aqsa” is an Arabic word which means “the farthest sanctuary” or “the farthest mosque.” Located in the Old City of Jerusalem, Palestine, Masjid Al Aqsa is the third holiest site in Islam.

The importance of Al-Aqsa Mosque to Muslims comes due to its religious reasons, as it is the first of the two qiblas, the third of the two holy mosques, and the Messenger of God Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed there during his night journey.

Most of the prophets and messengers, peace be upon them, lived around it. Among them are Ibrahim AS, Sulaiman AS, Zakaria AS, Dawud AS, Isa AS and his mother Maryam AS. (ILKHA)
